Opposites Attract

Heya Bru, I'm surprised you turned on the "Ask for Critique" for this picture, normally you don't do it but I'm very glad you did, as I wanted to give you a more in-depth review of your works to hopefully help make you a better artist. Anyhow, let's begin!

Vision) One thing that made me chuckle is the delivery of this short but sweet little mini comic based on your less known characters: Les and Arno (nice names btw). I understand this was meant to be submitted on Valentine's Day but things happened, everyone's been there, done that, have the T-Shirt and what not, ha ha ha. But at least you didn't disappoint, I had a good chuckle in the end.

Originality) A lot of artists and comic artists love to create the "Buddy comedy" things way back in history and today and Les and Arno can be just as effective like Laurel and Hardy, especially when comes to a situation like this. What are the odds of these two finding two ideal GFs and all of a sudden ...it may be the opposite gender but different species, which makes this gag very funny! So Im giving you 3 and a half stars for the originality.

Technique) Now this is where I believe could've been improved upon. I've already noticed several small mistakes that could be easily corrected (and don't feel afraid to ask for help either dude). Mainly the comic itself looks a bit tilted upon scanning and theres just TOO much white to seperate and contrast the background and the fur colors of all characters, the only major difference is Les (I believe his name is) is way different then the other vixen and bears. I would probably throw in a splash of grey and added lines to make the scenery happen either at noon, dusk, or whatever upon this romantic meeting, especially since these two other characters are the gender opposite of Arno and Les, so I'm giving this 3 stars. But you did good regardless.

Overall impact) I'm awarding you with a 3 and a half stars out of 5. Despite the errors as I listed in the Technique, I believe with a little more practice, I feel that this comic would really be a pretty awesome work of art, as far as setting up the gag, punchline and delivery, which you succeeded very much in.

I look foreword to seeing more random short comics involving your characters, you're an awesome artist and I'm very glad you're more open to recieving critiques...and remember one thing, a good critique of art not only points out errors, but the errors that COULD be improved upon!
